VIDEO: BUILD SITE & VOLUNTEER UPDATE!

Hear from our Construction Manager, Chris Weckmann! In the video linked below, he updates our supporters about what is happening on the build site and what volunteers can expect as they join us for upcoming volunteer shifts.

We still need your help on our build sites! We are working on completing our Billie Townsend Women Build and our William "D'Grouch" Laubengayer Memorial Build projects.

Volunteers work with us every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with morning (8 am - 12 pm) and afternoon (1 - 5 pm) shifts.

CORE SPOTLIGHT

This month, we are highlighting a member of our ReStore CORE! Our ReStore CORE volunteers have completed over 10,000 hours volunteering at the Iowa City ReStore. They help unload donations in our donation bay, re-organize the store, and so much more! We are so thankful to have them as part of our organization! 🛒

Dave Skallerud

Dave is a long-time Iowa City ReStore volunteer. This March is his 10-year anniversary volunteering with us! He has volunteered many hours in our ReStore and is always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need. We are thankful he volunteers with us here at Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity! Click to read more about Dave and what IVHFH means to him!

P.S. We know that he looks like he doesn't like volunteering with us, but we promise he LOVES us! 😉

VIDEO: TOOL OF THE MONTH

Our March Tool of the Month is the Oscillating Tool, a favorite of the IVHFH construction crew, who lovingly refer to it as "The Wiggler". We use it to cut items in hard-to-reach places, and it will be essential this month on our build sites for interior and exterior work. To learn more about how to use the oscillating tool, click the button below to hear our Construction Manager, Chris Weckmann, instruct you.

🌟Volunteer Group Spotlight🌟
University of Iowa Medicus

The University of Iowa Medicus is a student organization that has helped us tremendously on our build sites this build season! Medicus has been a returning volunteer group with IVHFH since 2016 and has helped on many builds over the years, completing 500+ volunteer hours. We can always count on them to be eager to learn and help on our build sites. A big thank you to the University of Iowa Medicus!
