Two Families Receive the Keys to Their Habitat Homes

On April 26, we proudly handed over the keys to two new families who will be first-time homeowners through Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity. A heartfelt thank you goes out to every volunteer who contributed to our William "D'Grouch" Laubengayer Memorial Build! Your support made this home build possible!

VIDEO: Construction Update!

Hear from Construction Manager Chris. In the video linked below, he provides our supporters with an update on the happenings at our Warehouse/HabLab site and what volunteers can expect as they join the construction crew for upcoming shifts.

Volunteers work with us every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with morning shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and afternoon shifts from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

AMERICORPS SPOTLIGHT

Habitat for Humanity's AmeriCorps program is a national service initiative that places dedicated individuals at local Habitat affiliates to support construction, volunteer coordination, and family services. Over their service term, AmeriCorps members help expand Habitat's impact by building capacity and strengthening the efforts of staff and volunteers alike. Click the button below to read more about how the AmeriCorps program helps our affiliate and what this program means to us.

Meet Loic and Neil

If you are volunteering on our construction site, you will likely be working with our two new AmeriCorps members, Loic and Neil. Loic (left) joined our team in March and hit the ground running, working with our construction team at our Memorial Build site. Neil (right) just joined our team in April! We are grateful for all the work they've already put in!

This incredible team of volunteers sorted and gathered 84 bags of cans, constructed numerous light fixtures, assembled a kitchen island, and accomplished many other tasks. We truly cannot thank them enough for all of their help at our ReStore!

Exciting news!! Our new ReStore website has launched, and we encourage all to check it out! While you're exploring the new website, follow us on our Iowa City ReStore Facebook page to stay updated on store inventory, special sales, donation needs, and volunteer opportunities.
