628 Aiden Street Dedication Ceremony

Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity invites you to join us in the celebration of the completion of the 628 Aiden Street project! The dedication ceremony will be on Saturday, February 14, at 9:00 am at 628 Aiden Street, Iowa City.

Meet Yassir, Amona, and their four children! When asked what this opportunity means to him, Yassir replied, "It means a lot for me because shelter is the main concern for me as the head of the household. This is providing a house for my family."

A Letter from ReStore Director, Thorin!

Dear Donors, Shoppers, and Volunteers,

We are back!

Usually, at the end of the year, we take a couple of weeks off around the holidays. A week in November to celebrate with our families for the Thanksgiving holiday. And again, in December around Christmas. Now we are back and are excited to get started on another super year here at the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Please follow this link and allow me to share a few more words with you.

Waypoint Women of Achievement in Service to the Community Award: Tami Bonnett

Each year, Waypoint upholds the rich tradition of recognizing women for their personal, professional, and civic contributions to the community through the Tribute to Women of Achievement event. Reflecting Waypoint's mission to inspire people to move forward, the women recognized are agents of change in the Corridor through their innovations, organizational improvements, leadership, and service to others. Their efforts demonstrate the positive impact women have on our community every day.

We are incredibly excited to share that our Development Director, Tami Bonnett, received the Women of Achievement in Service to the Community award! This recognition comes as no surprise, as every day she looks for new ways to improve our community and support future homeowners. Our organization and community are better because of her selflessness, genuine heart, and dedication to advancing affordable housing.

We are truly fortunate to have Tami on our team! ðŸ’œ

Thank you, Hope Builders!

Every Habitat project begins with a family, but it doesn't stop there. A finished home, a completed repair, or an accessible space becomes the starting point for another family to partner with Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity.

When Kayleb's family moved into their Habitat home, everything changed. Daily routines became simpler. Life felt more stable. There was finally time to just be together as a family.

Not far away, Dylan's family partnered with us in a different way—through a home repair that created a safer, more accessible space for Dylan to grow in independence and dignity in the home he already loved.

Hope Builders ensured we were ready for those moments; ready to build, ready to repair, ready to partner. By making monthly donations, Hope Builders help us keep building, repairing, and planning for what comes next. In 2025, 41 Hope Builders contributed nearly $14,700, providing steady support so we can commit not just once, but again and again.

When one family reaches a milestone, that monthly support helps us turn our attention to the next family—whether that's building a new home with a family like Kayleb's or making an existing home safer and more accessible for a family like Dylan's. That steady support is what lets us keep building belonging, one family at a time.

Welcome Home!

Last month, many gathered to celebrate the home dedication ceremony for our Women Build 15 honorees, Wai Yin Chan and Linda "Digger" Barrow.

Join us in congratulating Mohamed, Shaza, and their four children on this outstanding achievement, and welcome them to the Habitat family! And yes, if you were still wondering, the kiddos are still fighting over which room they will claim as theirs!😉

Thank you to our exceptional construction team, volunteers, and supporters for their invaluable assistance in supporting this remarkable build!
