July 17 and July 24, 5-8 pm! Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity construction staff and skilled construction volunteers will host a workshop for those interested in volunteering to build Habitat homes. These beginner-level classes will cover tool identification, construction terminology, site safety, and more. Workshops are hosted by the IVHFH Women Build Committee, but ALL ARE WELCOME! Lend a hand while the City of Iowa City and ReStore partner to keep former Ped Mall bricks in circulation! We will be stacking bricks on pallets so they can be transported to ReStore and sold.Age restrictions: All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Those under 18 must have parent/guardian consent to participate. Clothing: Wear comfortable, layered, weather appropriate clothing. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Age restrictions: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Those under 18 must have parent/guardian consent to participate. Sixteen and 17 year old youth cannot use power tools and cannot get more than 6 feet off the ground. If you are under 18, it is best to contact the volunteer coordinator in advance to determine the tasks that will be completed during your shift. Clothing: Wear comfortable, layered, weather appropriate clothing. Closed-toe shoes are required.
207 VOLUNTEERSReStore Volunteers
The ReStore is a retail store that sells donated household appliances and hardware to the public at very low costs. Our home improvement center allows everyone to maintain their home and store proceeds allow us to help more people achieve affordable home ownership. Income generated from the ReStore goes to support Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity's efforts to provide affordable housing in our service area. ReStore volunteers must attend an orientation prior to signing-up for a volunteer shift.
